It is extremely important to protect lime work from the rain, direct sunlight and drying wind/breeze to allow carbonation to take place and hence prevent failure. Hessian is often used for the purpose of Frost Protection, whether looking to protect mortar, new brickwork and concrete from bad weather and frost and is mainly sold as a Building/Landscaping material.
Although it is sometimes called Builders Hessian, it is also used for different purposes including gift wrapping, table decoration for weddings as well as numerous art projects. We have also heard of uses including musicians using it as a sound-proofing material and schools using it as background for designing sets for theatrical performances.
