Unvented Twin Coil Cylinders

A twin coil hot water cylinder works exactly the same as a standard hot water cylinder but they operate with two coils. Twin coil cylinders are used when there are two different methods of heating water available, usually solar powered and from the boiler system.

The twin coil system means that the heating from the lower coil is the first coil to heat the water using solar power and only if the water at the top half of the cylinder is not at the correct temperature will the upper coil be used to heat water as well. This will save you money on energy bills.
