Aqualisa’s Digital technology has challenged the common perception of showers and showering. Central to the Digital shower’s operation is a sophisticated processor or “brain” – which is installed in a separate location, away from the showering area.
Hot and cold water are mixed by the processor resulting in a rapid delivery of water, perfectly blended to the temperature of your choice. Meanwhile, a maximum temperature of 45 degrees centigrade means peace of mind for when the kids or the elderly are showering.
How does the processor control the shower?
There is a slim data cable that connects the processor to the shower control. The cable is completely concealed – leaving only a stylish start/stop, push button control and the shower head visible withing the showering area. There is a light on the control, which tells you exactly when its time to shower. The light flashes whilst the water is warming up, turning to a steady light once the water is at the chosen temperature.
There is also a remote start/stop switch, which can be positioned up to 10 meters away from the processor! The processor is the size of a shoebox, so can be situated anywhere, perhaps in the loft, under the bath or in an adjacent cupboard.
Replacing an old shower with a Digital shower
There is no need to worry if you are replacing an old shower with a Digital shower. The wide range of designs and styling will ensure that you are able to fit your new shower with the least disturbance. Concealed Quartz Digital showers are available with a sleek chrome back plate to disguise damage caused by your previous shower, and if you are replacing a traditional built-in shower you may be able to route your Digital shower’s data cable through the redundant pipes.
At the heart of Aqualisa’s Digital technology is the ‘processor box’ which blends hot and cold water supplies remotely from the shower controls. The pumped processor, for gravity systems, simplifies the traditional valve and pump system which can be noisy and takes up space in a family bathroom. The processor box, which is connected to the controller via a data cable, can be conveniently located up to 10 meters from the shower – in the loft, in the airing cupboard or even under the bath.
