Just a quick post today to say hello to one of our customers, Peter James, who is involved in a very interesting and unusual renovation project.
Peter bought some underfloor heating products from us to help with the ongoing renovation of his Windmill!
Originally built in 1803 The Ockley Windmill or rather Elmer’s windmill graced the village scene for almost 150 years until its sad demise in 1944.
Only the brick base was left, which for many years served as a store. It stood derelict for a considerable time until Peter decided to decided to take on the task of rebuilding the windmill on the original brick base.
Work started in 2005 and it’s amazing what has been achieved.

Peter says on his website https://www.ockleywindmill.co.uk/ ;
“My interest in the countryside and all things historical has driven me towards this interesting project with the thought that the restoration of the windmill will complement the already restored Elmer’s Farm and together with the existing pond will once again complete the scene.”
Externally the mill will appear almost as if nothing has changed and will not betray its new guise as a dwelling house.

Peter still has plenty of plans including underfloor heating throughout – the ground floor plus four further floors!
Good Luck Peter from all at Trading Depot.
