Solving some of the common dilemmas of small rooms having an illusion of space can be easy. Some problems that may be encountered within small ensuites is a lack of head height, space and light.
LACK OF HEAD HEIGHT, SPACE AND LIGHT
Within small ensuites, lack of head height and light can be addressed with the addition of roof windows, bringing natural light into the room whilst also adding height to the eaves of the slope roof. Adding roof windows will ensure you won’t feel too closed in, with the addition of 10 to 15 cm in height, whilst also bringing brightness into the room. Also the addition of walk in showers with glass panels can help with the brightness of the room, whilst giving the illusion of more space rather than adding showers that box you in.
Where possible the illusion of an increase in space can be added to the ensuite with the addition of a decent size mirror or mirror cabinet. Whilst also adding a light in colour wall tile can bring in the light, adding a spacious and relaxing environment within a small room, enhancing the ensuite area stopping it feel cluttered.
Using a wall hung toilet WC can greatly improve the look and feel of a small space by creating the feeling of space and openness.
You can also be clever by adding the cistern into a cavity wall or in the eves thus taking up less useable space in the ensuite.
SHOWERS FOR ENSUITES
Using a low or flush shower tray to the floor can extent the un broken lines. Something like a 25-30mm thick shower tray is ideal for the ensuite. Again using a minimal frame shower door or glass shower wall screen will work well.
Recently black framed shower doors are in fashion. This is powerful yet minimal lines look to suit your taste.
