Polypipe have announced the addition of several new products to their underfloor heating range . The new items are now available to buy online on our website and here is a rundown of exactly what’s new.
1) Flexible Underfloor Heating Pipe
This new pipe is ultra-flexible and has been designed specifically for underfloor heating use only. It is cheaper than the standard barrier pipe but must not be used for standard hot and cold plumbing. Apart from being more flexible than the normal barrier pipe it is also cheaper and so will help keep the cost of your installations down. Just remember it’s for underfloor heating only!
The range consists of the following sizes:
12mm flexible barrier pipe
15mm flexible barrier pipe
18mm flexible barrier pipe
2) MCP Underfloor Heating Pipe (Metal Composite Pipe)
This is formable metal composite pipe for underfloor heating applications. The aluminium barrier inside the pipe means that it will keep it’s shape once formed, making installation quicker and easier.
3) Solid Floor UFH Staple System
4) FFB Double Heat Spreader Plates
Double heat spreader plates that can now be fitted from underneath. If taking up the existing floor is not an option, then this could be the answer – Spreader Plates that are sized to fit inbetween the joists and be fittied from the ceiling below. See PB206 fo more details.
5) Overlay Lite 15
The ever popular Overlay Lite underfloor Heating system gets a new addition – Overlay Lite15 which has the adavantage of using 15mm pipe instead of 12mm pipe. This means it can be used to cover larger floor areas ( up to 20m2 now.) Overlay Lite is the same cost and same heat output as the Overlay system and so it is perfect where lighter weight floor coverings are to be used.
6) New Zonal Regulation Unit
The new PB970028 ZRU (Zonal Regulation Unit) is designed to require less space and enables the addition of an underfloor heated room to house with a traditionally plumbed heating system. This version comes ready to supply two or three circuits.
These new products have been launched as Polypipe re-brand their packaging across their range of plumbing products and I will cover the changes in detail in a future post.
