Thermostatic mixer showers include an automatic thermostat that will sense any major changes in temperature and will put right the temperature to a safer level. Some of the more advanced thermostatic mixers can even cut the water off when an error in flow is discovered. Most thermostatic mixers also a have a temperature cap to stop elevated temperatures so that higher temperatures cannot be chosen when showering.
